The Ingredients Gang has been my passion project for the past 7 years of my life. It all began when I created Salt the fox, a young boy with a tendency for adventure. Throughout the years I created his friends and together they go on all sorts of crazy adventures.

Here I will introduce you to each member and the world they live in.
Salt the fox
​
Salt is a young boy who is very energetic and full of life. Adventures are his favourite thing, and they are even more fun with his friends around. Salt wants to help people in need, but he has still much to learn. Because he is weak on his own, Salt decided to bring together all of his friends, so they could be stronger together. They are called The Ingredients Gang.
Sugar the sugarglider
​
Sugar is a sweet, soft girl who would do anything for her friends. With her wings under her arms she loves to glide through the sky, it's one of her favourite things to do. She is seen as a mother figure by her friends, and she takes pride in this. However, her love for others often makes her forget about herself. She does not take bad words about her lightly and will not hesitate to fight for herself.
Peper the hedgehog
​
Peper, who at birth was wrongly named Peper instead of Pepper, is a grumpy guy who likes to act very full of himself. While he does not often show it, he does care for his friends and when the going gets tough he will help them. He is very insecure about himself and tries to hide this by acting confident. He may act like a jerk, but is secretly deeply thankful for the friends he has.
Salmiac the frog
​
Salmiac is the definition of a sweetheart. He has only good in his heart and cannot see the bad in others. This makes him very naive and gets him intro trouble sometimes. He loves nature and all living things, and he treats these with utmost care. It's no secret that Salmiac appreciates life and what's given to him.
Carrot the rabbit
​
Carrot is a presumably shy, non-talkative rabbit. Nobody has ever heard him talk, however he sometimes signals things via body language. He always has his carrot with him as it gives him comfort. It's unkown what happens if his carrot gets taken away from him.
Beets the raccoon
​
Although not an official member of the gang,
Beets often hangs out with them and helps them with the items she finds on her dumping ground. She is a quirky raccoon girl and always has a big smile on her face. She is a good listener and does not judge. She is always honest but can be too straightforward, which can cause problems. She likes to be on her own.
Their world
​
The Ingredients Gang live in a world inhabited only by animals. These animals are divided into two groups. First is a primeval group who continue to live life the most natural way possible, like animals used to before technology came into existence. They live in forests and have made their own houses and treehouses.
The second group is the modern world, consisting of over 70% of the total population. This group consists of animals living life much more like we humans do. This group uses technology in a way that makes the natural animal life unnecessary, and their world looks much like how we humans live. This group has even evolved to the extent of them looking a little different.

The Ingredients Gang are part of the first, primeval group of animals. They live life as primeval as possible. The two groups know of eachothers existence, however choose not to interact with eachother if not necessary. While not forbidden, it is looked down upon to visit the modern world as an outsider. Thus no one ever goes there.
​
The Ingredients Gang live in a tribe where everyone is named after an ingredient. There exist several tribes that each have their own unique naming system. To honor their tribe, Salt and the gang decided they would be named The Ingredients Gang, to put emphasis on their tribe's unique naming system. Together they protect their tribe and their friends.
​
The modern world throws away a lot of items, and this is where Beets' dumping ground comes into place. She makes a good business of selling the items she finds dumped there. Beets is not the only one to have a business in this, but she is the only one in the area of The Ingredients Gang. Via this way, dated technology from the modern world slowly finds it way into the primeval world. Opinions on this matter are very mixed between animals.

It may come as no surprise that the modern world brings a lot more career options on the table due to its technology. Salt is always looking for adventure and new things to learn, but finds that his current life does not offer enough. It's here that his interest in the modern world starts to boil.
The story of The Ingredients Gang is about two completely different groups of animals and how they live side by side, but also how they will be intertwined by The Ingredients Gang. The Ingredients Gang will find that both groups hold secrets that are yet to be discovered...
